Simula Consulting becomes Simula’s Department of Applied AI

Simula Consulting will be merged with its parent company, Simula Research Laboratory (SRL), effective January 1st, 2025, under the new Department of Applied AI. Daily operations and the team will remain unchanged, ensuring seamless continuity for all client relationships.

The Director of Simula Consulting, Holger Hussmann, will continue leading the team as it becomes the Department of Applied AI. In addition, he will assume the role of Director of Industry Relations, fostering deeper collaborations between the Simula Group and industry partners, broadening our impact and engagement with external stakeholders.

“Becoming an integral part of SRL will allow us to more effectively leverage the full spectrum of Simula’s research expertise in our applied projects while maintaining our focus on delivering innovative solutions and contract research to industry partners”, says Hussmann.

  • Business continuity: The entire team will transition to the new department, ensuring uninterrupted service and continued dedication to ongoing projects and client relationships. Current contracts, agreements, and project timelines will continue as planned.

  • Leadership: Holger Hussmann will continue to lead as the Head of the Department of Applied AI and also take on the role of Director of Industry Relations for SRL.

  • Website migration: Our web presence will transition from simula.consulting to a dedicated page for the Department of Applied AI on simula.no.

  • Enhanced capabilities: This organizational change will create a dynamic flow of knowledge, allowing Simula’s research units to gain new insights from real-world industry applications while enabling the Applied AI team to deepen its innovative capabilities through closer collaboration with Simula’s researchers.
